Italy 2025 - Day 4: The Appian Way, the Villa Giulia, and the Capuchin Crypt - Jessica and Amelia

Jessica and Amelia:

We started off the day taking a private bus along the Appian Way, visiting the breathtaking catacombs. With intricate tunnels and intriguing explanations from our tour guide, we fully explored the complex history and labyrinth that lies underneath years of buried history.

While we were on the Appian Way, we also visited Villa of Maxentius, where we listened to an in depth presentation by Ginny about the sights and plains.

Ginny delivers her site presentation standing at the starting gates of the chariot racetrack of the Villa of Maxentius.

While heading back to the catacombs to get picked up, we visited the Tomb of Caecilia Metella, where some of us experienced the immersive VR view of what the buildings could have looked like.

After that, we returned to the bus, we went to the Piazza Del Popolo and spent our lunch shopping and enjoying the rich cuisine.

We then took the bus to the Villa Guilia, and Karissa and Brynn gave us a great presentation about the history the museum.

Later, we visited the Capuchin Crypt where we gave our presentation on the different type of bones and history of the crypt.

Lastly, we returned to our hotel briefly, before we set out again for dinner. We ate at a nearby restaurant, and the night ended with our daily gelato trip.
